AQA GCSE Combined Science: Trilogy, topic 4
Bioenergetics
Plants use light to make glucose in photosynthesis, which also releases oxygen. Living things then use that glucose in respiration to transfer the energy they need for life. This topic covers both processes, what limits photosynthesis, how the body responds to exercise, and how all the reactions in a cell are linked as metabolism.
Examined in Biology Paper 1 (1 hour 15 minutes, 70 marks). Combined Science: skip anything labelled Triple only.
Subtopics
Work through them in order. Each one has notes, exam questions and flashcards, and a PDF of each. Triple-only subtopics are left out.
