GCSE Biology

The UK's main exam at 16, taken at the end of Year 11. Choose your exam board, then Triple Biology or Combined Science.

Triple Biology or Combined Science?

Your school enters you for one of two routes. Triple (separate) Biology is a full GCSE on its own, alongside separate Chemistry and Physics. Combined Science covers all three sciences and is worth two GCSEs, with a little less biology content.

Triple Biology

Two 1 hour 45 minute papers, 100 marks each. AQA 8461 or Edexcel 1BI0. Includes extra content marked Triple only on this site.

Combined Science

Two shorter biology papers within six science papers. AQA Trilogy 8464 or Edexcel 1SC0. Same topics, so skip anything marked Triple only.
